Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

LearnWell Languages is operated by 1001670575 Ontario Inc. (“LearnWell,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

We are committed to providing a language-learning experience that respects user privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled in the current version of the LearnWell Languages mobile application.

2. Information Handled by the App

Local profile information

Users may create local learning profiles and enter a profile name. A profile may also contain information such as:

• completed lessons and learning activities;
• language level and placement-test results;
• XP, hearts, streaks, and practice history;
• lesson, checkpoint, and assessment progress;
• selected preferences and onboarding status.

This information is stored locally on the device using Apple device-storage technologies. LearnWell does not transmit this information to its own servers.

Microphone and speech recognition

Certain speaking activities request permission to use the device microphone and Apple’s speech recognition services. When a user begins a speaking activity:

• audio is captured temporarily for speech recognition;
• Apple’s Speech framework may process the audio to produce a text transcription;
• the transcription is used to evaluate the speaking exercise and provide feedback;
• LearnWell does not create or retain an audio recording file;
• LearnWell does not use microphone audio for advertising or tracking.

Microphone and speech recognition access are optional. Users may deny or revoke these permissions through their device settings, although speaking activities may then be unavailable.

Information provided through support

If a user contacts us voluntarily by email, we may receive the sender’s name, email address, message, and any information the sender chooses to include. We use this information only to respond to the inquiry, provide support, investigate problems, and maintain appropriate business records.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

In the current version of LearnWell Languages, we do not operate our own system for collecting or storing:

• precise or approximate location;
• contacts or address-book information;
• photos, videos, or camera content;
• government identification information;
• advertising identifiers;
• browsing history;
• cross-app or cross-site tracking data;
• public posts, comments, or social-media content;
• account passwords or online login credentials.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use personal information for behavioural advertising.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Premium subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.

LearnWell does not receive or store the user’s full payment-card number, banking credentials, or App Store password. Apple may provide the app with transaction and entitlement information needed to confirm whether premium features should be available.

Apple’s handling of payment and account information is governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.

5. Apple Services

LearnWell Languages uses Apple technologies and services necessary to provide app functionality, including:

• Apple Speech and microphone frameworks;
• Apple text-to-speech functionality;
• StoreKit and App Store purchase services;
• standard Apple operating-system and security services.

Information processed directly by Apple is subject to Apple’s privacy practices. Additional information is available in Apple’s Privacy Policy .

6. Children’s Privacy

LearnWell Languages may be used by adults, teens, and children. The app is not exclusively directed to children and does not currently provide public profiles, messaging, social posting, or online account creation.

Child learning profiles and their progress are stored locally on the device. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise children’s use of the app and the device.

We do not knowingly request that children submit personal information directly to LearnWell. If a parent or guardian believes that a child has sent us personal information through a support request, they may contact us to request its deletion.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Local profile and learning information remains on the user’s device until it is deleted through the app, the app’s data is reset, or the application is removed from the device.

Support communications may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and maintain legitimate business records.

Users may contact us to request access to or deletion of personal information that they have sent directly to LearnWell.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information under our control.

No electronic system or method of transmission is completely secure. Users should protect their devices with appropriate passcodes, biometric security, software updates, and other available security measures.

9. International Users

LearnWell Languages may be available in multiple countries. Privacy and consumer-protection rights may differ depending on the user’s location.

Where applicable law provides additional rights, users may contact us to exercise those rights. LearnWell will review requests in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

10. Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on applicable law, users may have the right to request:

• information about personal information under LearnWell’s control;
• access to that information;
• correction of inaccurate information;
• deletion of information where applicable;
• withdrawal of consent, subject to legal and contractual restrictions.

Device permissions for the microphone and speech recognition may be reviewed or changed at any time through the device’s Settings application.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, applicable law, or our privacy practices change.

When an update is made, the revised policy will be posted on this page and the effective date will be updated. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate method.
